Surau al-Husna PPR Seri Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, held the slaughtering of the Qurban immediately after the Eid ul-Adha prayers.
There were 8 cows altogether for Block E & F. Two of them were gifts from one Dato’ Amin. Five eighths were a gift from MP Setiawangsa YB Datuk Seri Zulhasnan Rafique, Minister of Federal Territory. The rest were qurban and aqiqah.
Block D held a separate slaughtering. Aaah, politics!
They had 4 cows. One was donated by MP Titiwangsa YB Datuk Haji Astaman Bin Abdul Aziz.
During the distribution of the donated meat of Block D, someone stood up and announced (something to effect), “Hah, daging ni semuanya halal! Tak de rasuah! Kalau kat sana ambik daging, mesti kena undi. Kat sini tak payah undi.” (All the meat here is halal! There’s no pay-off! Over there (at Block E & F), if you accept the meat, you have to vote.)
PPR Seri Semarak is under the Setiawangsa Electoral Area.
Alhamdulillah, the day was bright, even though it was the monsoon season, and some part of the country was running havoc with flood.
On hind sight, it was a little too bright for a cameraman who had no fill-in flash capability; but one just had to make do.
When it came to Eid ul-Adha, people tended to talk more about the slaughtering. But it actually all came down to people with their ibadah and intention.
So I published mostly the people and the faces. I left the gory details aside in respecting the beliefs of my Hindu friends.
Selamat Hari Raya Eid ul-Adha.
