Purata 30 AJK Surau, Masjid Di Selangor Letak Jawatan Setiap Bulan

Purata 30 AJK Surau, Masjid Di Selangor Letak Jawatan Setiap Bulan – JAIS

  1. An interesting statistics on running a worship house where members of the administration committee are mostly or all volunteers who sacrifice their own time and sometimes money.

Selections of committee members are done using the so-called democracy system of open voting during a special nomination meeting. The good thing about this is that all who are interested in the well-being of the worship house would try to make it to the meeting, and get involve the nomination process.

The drawback is that the nomination process is rather a simple raise of hands. We can nominate anyone we feel like, as long as there are seconders. Even if we don’t know the person. We judge by looks. If 100% of the attendees agree, the nominated will find it impossible to back out.

All kinds would be nominated with all kinds of intention. Of course, there are nominees who are capable, committed, sincere, and willing. But the are also those who are incapable, or cannot commit themselves, insincere, or unwilling, or all of the above. And those are the problems. And the worse problem is, of course, politics. They don’t go to pray, instead they go to watch others pray.

    To hell with them!

  2. It is happening at Masjid Darul Ehsan SJaya. The Imam & Bilal has complained that the Nazir, Secretary & AJK has reduced their pay & allowance but doing the same work scope. Now, they have resorted for extra income by teaching religious class to the public during their off days. As a result, the mosque suffers coz when one of the imam falls sick, none will replace them coz AJK refuse to pay them for the extra work. They are given RM30 allowance for mobile phone to communicate with SJaya muslim communities.

Nazir & Secretary also active Pekemas members having their own agenda. Donations will be rejected if not accdg to their preference. Siak given a 6month contract. Imam & Bilal told they can leave if they do not like it.

During recent AGM last Sunday, Account for 2009 not presented yet AGM being called to approved them! The jemaah wants to petition a ‘No Confidence’ vote to AJK to allow new AJK members to take over.

Its pretty annoying to know that politics really exist in mosque…probably due to AJK being Pekemas members themselves.

Getting involved with a non-profit entity such as Masjid/Surau, one should be aware that he won’t be able to earn a living from it, even with allowance or salary.

I’m always from a perspective that one should always approach a Masjid/Surau with having to spend money in mind. If you wanna make money, go somewhere else. But corruption is everywhere, even in a Masjid/Surau.

I never knew that Siak is a contract job.

May be those Imam and Bilal really should leave, and see how the Nazir and Secretary handle the situation. Go somewhere where you are appreciated. Rezeki is everywhere.

Ouk aloh Pok Zawi, lamo tok maghi.🙂

For one, I see that the nomination process has its flaw, despite its good intention, although it is certainly better than the old days when the Chairman (Nazir) was appointed via recommendation of local Assemblymen, or other influential figures.

When you run a Masjid/Surau (among others), it’s important to be apolitical. But politics is part of life. So how?

One of the things about struggling in the path of Allah is that we have to persevere. Don’t sikit² nak letak jawatan, sikit² nak letak jawatan. Of course, sometimes, one has no choice. But there’s always a way. Just don’t expect perfection.
